Take our Kids to Work at Osgoode Hall 2015
This interactive workshop provides Grade 9 students with a hands-on opportunity to learn about the major steps in a criminal trial and the advocacy roles of the lawyers in the process. Students are divided into Crown and Defence teams to play a game based on the Ontario Justice Education Network's mock trial scenario involving a shoplifting charge against a young offender. Teams select the evidence to introduce, the questions to ask witnesses on direct and cross-examination, and the closing argument to make to persuade the judge to acquit or convict.
Due to popular demand, space in the Donald Lamont Learning Centre is limited to no more than 4 students per firm. Students must be accompanied by an adult. Adult chaperones must register to reserve their seats.
Groups of 6 or more who wish to attend are advised to register for the webcast.
